Ben Trotter is finally getting to where everyone thought he would be when he joined the Mountain Pointe track program.

Sometimes there is just now way of getting around your name – and Trotter is a big one at Mountain Pointe.

After running a 10.60 100-meter dash at the Sun Angel Classic, Trotter just might have put himself at the top of the family tree.

“He reached a new level,” Pride sprint coach Larry Todd said. “His confidence is coming out and he is making great strides. The work he has put in has been immense.

“Ben is one of those kids you want to see good things happen to because I have never coached a kid who works as hard as him.”

There have been plenty of Trotters come through the program – from cousin Brandon to sisters Chardae and Polyanna – but if Ben finishes strong he just might have some bragging rights.

“I keep telling (his parents) can you please have another one,” Todd said. “There is a Trotter legacy at Mountain Pointe and Ben is projecting to be the best of them all.”
