The 7-on-7 portion of the football offseason (like there is one anymore) is in full swing.

It isn't always easy to come by results, but Desert Vista and Mountain Pointe fared well in a couple of the events that I've seen.

Mountain Pointe made the semifinals (I believe, going on memory here) of the U of A tournament before falling to Hamilton. Not a bad showing for a team breaking in a new quarterback in its first action of the summer.

Then the Pride did well at the ASU passing tournament as well only losing to Desert Ridge. Maybe more importantly, the Pride won the Big Man (linemen) Challenge.

Desert Vista finished second in the Flagstaff tournament, losing to Scottsdale Chaparral in the championship. The Thunder also finished runner-up in the Big Man Challenge as they were beat by Phoenix Horizon.

"We are having a great summer so far," Desert Vista coach Dan Hinds said.
