The Mountain Pointe defense has delivered some hits this season but the unit has dealt with some as well.

Senior linebacker Nick Griffin, who had his best game of his career last Thursday, had his right hand broken went it hit a Chandler player's helmet and he had surgery on Wednesday repair it.

His availability for the rest of the season is uncertain, but chances are he won't be back unless it is the final week of the year or the postseason should the Pride (2-3) advance.

The defense is already missing middle linebacker Jordan Leal (knee) with the hope that the senior will also make it back toward the end of the year.

Senior defensive tackle Raynon Blackshire (ankle) missed one game, but came back last week and senior defensive tackle Mark Fraboni (concussion) has missed two games but has been cleared Friday's game at home against Brophy (5-0).
