The Mean of Teal fell short of their goal as the Ahwatukee Little League minors saw the season end on Wednesday.

The group of 10 and 11 year olds, managed by Mike Mettner, fell 16-11 to Nogales in a barnburner of an elimination game at Countryside Fields in Mesa.

The lost stings a little bit right now, especially since Ahwatukee beat Nogales earlier in the tournament, but the team finished fourth in the state after winning the District 13 title earlier this month.

The team had plenty of big hits, great defensive plays and big-time pitching performances throughout the summer to provide the players, coaches and their fans plenty of memories.
