Talk about waiting until the last second.

Kevin Cron hadn't heard much until recently from the Seattle Mariners, who drafted the Mountain Pointe graduate in the third round in June.

Cron turned turn down the M's last six-figure offer.

The deadline to sign a pro contract for incoming college freshmen is 9 p.m. Monday Arizona time.

Cron said by text that he expects the Mariners' to have at leastn one more offer to come in before the deadline. They know it is going to take more than the normal third-round signing bonus to get Cron to budge off his Texas Christian commitment.

Some have said it is going take a seven-figure bonus to get Arizona's all-time home run leader (single season and career) to turn pro.

Stay tuned.
