A year later and I am staring at my second Ahwatukee Bowl.

I have a better understanding of it, of course, having attended one, hearing from both sides (got to love the anonymous voice mails calling me a homer - for both schools) and found out more about the history.

Last year, I knew going into the game that Mountain Pointe was going to win simply because of the two seasons the two programs were coming off of in 2009.

This year with both teams coming off nearly identical seasons, with terrific defenses and high expectations, I am kind of hemming and hawing as to who I believe is going to come out on top on Friday.

I should have a better idea after doing interviews and seeing some of each team's practices this week.

It doesn't really matter. I'd just end up making one side mad anyway and who needs anonymous voicemails anyhow. The kids on the field will determine the outcome not some prediction.

The game will come down to the usual factors - turnovers, penalties and big plays - of a close game.

How that is going to play out won't be known until about 9:30 Friday night.

Until then check in daily for the latest info on the biggest game of the year.
