Mountain Pointe product Will Claye finished second in Thursday's preliminaries for the triple jump in Oregon at the Olympic Trails.

Claye moves on to Saturday's finals along with 11 other competitors.

He finished second in the prelims with an effort of 55 feet and 1 1/2 inches.

The automatic qualifying mark is 56-5 1/4 and should be attainable when the competition heats up.

Claye, a national champion in the long jump at Florida, has already qualified for the London Olympic Games in the long jump.
