Chandler Hamilton senior and Ahwatukee resident Christian Westerman will miss this week's first-round playoff game with hopes of playing in the Class 5A Division I title game should the Huskies make it that far.

The five-star offensive line recruit, who has committed to Texas, was injured in practice on Monday when he was hit in the leg to cause fractures just below his left knee.

Westerman is a in a walking boot and no surgery is required.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder has been the anchor to the line that has won the last two 5A I titles.

Hamilton opens the season against No. 16 Mesa Westwood.
