Athletes head to junior colleges with the idea of turning heads and finding their way to a Division I program.
Jordan Kipper is on his way to doing just that.
The Mountain Pointe graduate threw a seven-inning no-hitter on Thursday for Central Arizona in a 1-0 win over Odessa College in the first game of a double header.
The right-hander struck out 12 and walked two.
The program’s web site has Kipper 3-1 on the year with a 2.38 ERA in six games and 34 innings. He has 29 strikeouts and eight walks. It is not known if it those number include the no-hitter.
Former Pride teammate Junior Zepeda (1-1) is also doing well at Central as the right-handed reliever has a 1.29 ERA in 14 innings (12 games) with 17 strikeouts and seven walks.
