There has been a lot of quarterback news going on in the Ahwatukee Foothills area since Mountain Pointe's situation became muddy just before the start of spring ball when Kyle Faunce moved to Indiana.
There was tons of speculation and transfer rumors, none of which came true.
It is something Cesar Chavez is used as the school has been a lightening rod of controversy in recent years, mostly surrounding former Desert Vista coach Jim Rattay.
While things are starting to possibly calm down in Laveen, another Ahwatukee quarterback is coming to the forefront.
Senior Chandler Hovik is the Champions returning starter behind the center and should have plenty of talent to help improve on last year's numbers.
The 6-foot-2 and 190-pounder completed 70.7 of his passes for 1,471 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions.
