Students at Kyrene de la Esperanza were taken out of class for an assembly for former student Davonte Neal, but the later didn't show up until later in the afternoon because of a family situation.
Some of the assembled staff honored Davonte Neal with "Davonte" masks.
The assembly started with Esperanza's Mallett Band, which played two pieces by Walt Hampton - “Nyoka” and “Two Three” - and it quickly went down hill from there.
