Will Claye keeps on jumping.
After winning the indoor and outdoor triple jump NCAA titles for Florida, the former Mountain Pointe star kept rolling at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday in Eugene, Ore.
Claye earned a spot on the U.S. team for the upcoming IAAF World Championships with his second-place finish in the triple jump.
Claye jumped 17.09 meters (56-feet, 1-inch) to finish behind University of Florida teammate Christian Taylor, who won with a leap of 17.49 (57-4 ¾). Both Claye and Taylor are assured of a spot in the world championships at Daegu, South Korea by virtue of their finish on Thursday and the fact they both have surpassed the “A” qualifying standard of 17.20 meters. Claye jump a non-wind aided 17.35 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships earlier this month.
Here is a link to a story I did earlier in the year on his college career.
