If you have been following Arizona prep sports over the last year, then you know all about Brophy’s Devon Allen.
The senior wide receiver is considered one of the nation’s fastest hurdlers and can be a nightmare of a matchup on Friday nights as Broncos quarterback Tyler Bruggman usually has No. 13 as his first target.
This year the 6-foot, 197-pound Allen has 20 catches for 346 yards (17.3 yards a catch) with four touchdowns. Those aren’t eye-popping numbers, but it is clear if he gets a step on a defensive back he will be in the clear.
The Red Army, the crazy student body for Brophy, made a parody video this week about how fast Allen really is.
Mountain Pointe (5-0) puts its top ranking on the line against the Broncos (4-2) at Phoenix College on Friday.
