The last time I went on the Havasupai Falls hike I left feeling like I missed out on an opportunity.

The place with the five waterfalls on the Havasupai Indian Reservation in the Grand Canyon was every bit as gorgeous and breathtaking as expected.

I can't even come close to describing the beauty down there and the feeling I get from being with all the nature and spirituality.

Other than my wedding day and my daugther being born, it's the most special thing I have ever witnessed.

So that wasn't the void.

It was the fact that I stood on top of Navajo Falls and turned back.

The 30 foot leap into the deep, blue waters below got the best of me three years ago.

I went this past weekend, knowing in the back of my mind the waterfall was still going to be there, with no plans of even attempting it again.

Then on our final day we hung out at Navajo Falls. Lo and behold the waterfall was pulling me in like an undertow.

I was still hesitant until there were about five people, mostly girls, half my age doing it like they were jumping off a small diving board.

It was enough to get me back to the top of Navajo Falls. I was again faced with the 'What if' something went wrong and I had to wait hours before emergency crews could get to me.

Instead of thinking at the top, I just took the leap. Before I knew it was my heart was going crazy and I was counting - One 1,000, two 1,000, three and SPLASH.

I pulled it off and I will probably never do it again, but at least now that void has been filled.
