In winning 12 of 13 football games this season it could be said that the Desert Vista football team has been on fire.

Let's hope that stays figuratively.

The school is hosting a bon fire on Wednesday as a pep rally as the Thunder prepare for Saturday's Division I state title game against Hamilton at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Desert Vista parking lot by the tennis court.

It is open to students, players, coaches, family and the Desert Vista community as all supporters are invited.
