Will Claye is still flying high and far.

The Mountain Pointe two-time state champion in the triple jump just might become a national name in the near future.

Claye established the early, indoor season, leading mark in the triple jump of 57 feet at the USA Indoor Championships last weekend in Albuquerque, N.M.

Claye not only won the triple jump, but he exceeded 57 feet on three consecutive jumps, finishing with a world-leading mark of 57-10.25.

Claye finished second in the long jump with a mark of 26-3.75.

The Track and Field Olympic Team Trials will be held the last 10 days of June in Eugene, Ore.

At this rate, Claye should start making plans for the 2012 London Olympics.
