Much has been written in this space in recent weeks about Will Claye and his bid for Olympic gold that we almost completely forgot about a Mountain Pointe grad who already knows what it is like to win one.

Volleyballer Reid Priddy, a 1996 graduate, is back for his third Olympics on the U.S. men's team.

He is already in London and is surprised how the city is loaded with locals compared to 2004 when most of the people from Athens, Greece, escaped during the Games.

"I like it a lot," Priddy told the Arizona Republic's Jeff Metcalfe in London. "I've lived the majority of the last decade in Europe, but I like home better. But I really like it here, I'm somewhat surprised. In Greece, the city was vacated and people went to the islands. Here, I do not have tickets for family."

Hopefully, that changes and they can see him play.

I know I will be watching.

I wonder how many times a school has been represented at one Olympic Games in two different sports.

It can't be many and gives an extra excitement to watch this year's games.
