TUCSON - Love the Caballero.

It just might be the most cherished prize on all of Arizona wrestling. Chances are the who ever wins one will have defeated a tougher bracket at the state tournament.

So that is why I have made my annual trip to the Flowing Wells Invitational. Those 14 individual champions will have definitely earned their title and the Caballero that comes with it.

Last I heard, Chandler and Ironwood Ridge were at the top of the team standings before today's semifinals action.

Leaving my daughter's birthday party and heading down to Tucson now. I hope to get the blog up by 4 p.m. with the finals starting at 6 p.m.

Here are the things to remember.

1. Fresh take at the top, scroll down for the old stuff like matchups, team standings, opinions etc.

2. Sign in to the website and join the conversation. I will answer questions if they are posed.

3. Sorry for typos and messed up names as I try to keep along with the action.

4. Enjoy.

.....

Thats all for now. Come back for game stories, complete results.

thanks for joining in.

.....

A bout card was marked wrong earlier - Morales of Cibola beat Dixie of Desert Vista, 4-3 for third at at 170. It was marked the opposite on the bout card

anyway 5-1 patrick

He is is looking slick, quick duck under for 7-1 lead

Patrick down to start the third

Escape, strong double. Definitely looks sharp and not like someone who has only 12 matches

Big time back points, for 15-2 lead

and that's the way it ends

.....

145 -  Bryant Wood ,  HORIZON  34-  0 vs. Seth Monty ,  MESA MT. VIEW  28-  2

Hoping this one brings some life to this crowd because it has been pretty dead. Maybe the Sunnyside factor has something to do with it.

Moraga trying to score but Morales does enough to fend him off, could have been in with stalling possibly to tie it up but not so blatant the crowd was going nuts or anything

2-1 final

Not sure if it is because of Brady's abscence or what but a lack of engery with the crowd. Matches havent been all that exciting either
