It says in his bio that Chris Cron has raised two ballplayers – one in pro ball and the other in college - but nothing could be further from the truth.

Considering Cron has been managing in the pros since 1995, he raised a heck of a lot more over the years, including players like Joe Crede, Aaron Rowand and Carlos Lee, all of whom helped the Chicago White Sox win the 2005 World Series.

He is currently the Double A manager for the Erie SeaWolves, an affiliate for the Detroit Tigers, and reached a terrific milestone.

When the SeaWolves beat the Bowie BaySox on Saturday, it was Cron’s 1,000 career win.

Cron, whose sons C.J. (Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim) and Kevin (Texas Chrisitan) played at Mountain Pointe, was happy to share the moment with his current players.

They got the last out and all of a sudden all the guys start running into the clubhouse," he told MLB.com. "'What the [heck] are they doing?' I go into my office, take off my jersey and start working on the game report when [second baseman Brandon Douglas] comes in and tells me to come into the clubhouse. He gives a little speech, says, 'I just want to congratulate, for anyone who doesn't know, Chris Cron for his 1,000th win.' So I get the champagne doused over my head and the whole works.

"I didn't see any of it coming. But it means a lot, though, when players recognize a big moment like that for you."
