Early in President’s Obama’s presidency some critiques of the president were claiming he was traveling around the world on what they called an “apology tour,” but nothing can be farther from the truth. Looking back, yes, President Obama seemed to be uneasy when meeting some world leaders, but no one can deny the fact that his presidency has taken on our foes with a precise and deadly intensity.

President Obama pressed relentlessly one of his highest priorities was to find, capture, or kill America’s biggest of all our foes, Osama bin Laden. Sending in special forces to take out Osama, who was living in Pakistan, was a turning point for those who said Obama was an apologist. Another enemy of the United States put to rest was the former Libyan dictator Colonel Gaddafi. Again, President Obama has shone that those who seek ill harm to the United States will suffer deadly consequences. There is a long list of other people who wished America harm that have suffered the same consequences as Osama bin Laden and Colonel Gaddafi.

As the troops are drawn down in Iraq and some in Afghanistan, a new threat is coming across the news wire from the president of Iran pushing feverishly to become a nuclear nation. This new saber waving president’s threats to wipe one of our closest allies, Israel, off the face of the map may face a strong response from President Obama. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran, claims to only be enriching uranium for medical purposes, but we all know, he is far from being truthful.

If President Obama sends more troops into another country, let’s use less troops and use drones as they are having a big impact in our other military theaters. If troops do go to war, give them everything they will need to end the threats from Iran in a quick and successful manner. Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema, who serves Ahwatukee and part of the East Valley, support the troops with everything they will need to protect America, Americans, our allies, and leave politics out of the equation.

In recent months we have come to find out that the newest leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, is following his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps keeping the North Korean people impoverished, with little food and against the citizens of North Korea from enjoying the global market many countries are enjoying. The state media and all the newspapers are run by the government limits the North Koreans from participating with the rest of the world in every aspect of life. With the recent firing of missiles by North Korea something will need to be done to stop their possibility of reaching the American shores with a nuclear payload. Kim Jong-un should look at the consequences the former enemies of America and should reach out for peace or suffer dearly.

And then there is Syria. It’s current president, Bashar al-Assad, has recently introduced chemical weapons on the citizens of Syria who want to end the dictatorship al-Assad inherited from the previous president, his father. This dictator should realize that no country has the right to kill its citizens who want more freedom, better schools, better infrastructure and many more freedoms Americans, and for that matter, many other countries give their people. I would expect out of the previous mentioned failed leaders from Iraq, North Korea and Syria, Bashar al-Assad has the biggest target on his back more so than Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong-un. Not since the days of former President Saddam Hussein or the German dictator Adolph Hitler has a president intentionally used chemical weapons on its own citizens.

There are other countries and leaders who also wish harm to Americans and our allies, but they will see how the aforementioned will be dealt with soon enough. The list is long, but the list of our allies is much longer.

Now, I will hear from one side of the isle questioning my support for President Obama and I will get praise from another side supporting President Obama and to that I say this: President Obama is my president whether I supported him or not. President George W. Bush was also my president whether I supported him or not. In fact, going back to President Reagan every president from him to today has or is my president and, more importantly, the President of the United States.

President Obama is by far an apologist and may be taking a page out of the 26th president’s play book, “Speak Softly and Carry A Big Stick,” as President Theodore Roosevelt was know for saying. And as I have stated in the past, “America seeks peace not war, but America will go to war for peace.”
