I have not voted in some time now, having figured out that it simply does no good. And yes, I sincerely believe the “system” itself is the problem.

I suppose 237 years ago, the political system created by our Founding Fathers seemed to be the best way to operate, at least at that time. Considering what they had previously, anything was an improvement.

However, the idea of simply pitting two separate “parties” against each other, each with their own version of what is best for the country, simply makes no sense to me.

Our system itself is setup to fail.

Instead of a “right way” or a “wrong way,” there is simply “our way” and “their way.” Of course, the ONLY results we as Americans ever see is “no way.”

Nothing ever changes, and certainly NOTHING is ever improved.

I think we all agree that war is never a good thing. That, however, is exactly what we have created within our own current political system. An ongoing, never-ending war between Democrats and Republicans, with seemingly no end in sight, ever. With the ultimate loser, being “Us,” Americans.

We all recognize the current tax system is “antiquated,” at best, and very simply, wrong. But will it ever be changed? Probably not in our lifetime.

And what company could ever survive if the employees were able to simply vote themselves a raise, and/or increase their own benefits, as our current politicians are able to do? You can bet none of them will ever go hungry. And certainly none of them will ever have to work again for the rest of their lives.

How do we change this mess?

All I can think of is stop perpetuating the problem by encouraging them. Stop voting, as I have done.
