  Permits? If the City has their way they will require a permit to put flowers out front, ever seen a DIY show talk about getting a permit for that Yard Crash, Bath Crash, and kitchen remodel? Nope, because to replace a Light Switch Plate or worst yet the actual switch from beige to white you NEED to get a permit (Cost probably about $40-$60) just to replace a switch, lay some pavers Needs a permit, replace a hot water heater with the identical unit, and yup get a permit. If they get their way to replace a light bulb is going to need a permit, why, well let’s see, try and cancel a permit without doing any work and ask for a refund, nope, hidden in the rules they require an administrative fee which usually equates to more than the permit cost so you get zip, zero nada back. What do you get, hmm, a stamp of not their approval, not their guarantee it was planned right, or is legal, but their statement that you will not be doing anything illegal and will not be subject to any fines for not getting the permit in the first place, ridiculous!
