Anonymous tip leads to outstanding warrant arrest

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

An anonymous tip Wednesday morning resulted in police arresting a man with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant near Altadeña Middle School.

Sgt. Dennis Orender said the call came in around 10 p.m. reporting a suspicious vehicle near Desert Foothills Parkway and Desert Bloom Way.

When police found the driver, Marcigtam Winfrey, they determined that he had been delivering fliers in the neighborhood. But they also discovered and that he had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.

"This anonymous citizen made this call and the end result was a wanted man off the street," said Orender.

If anyone sees something or someone that looks suspicious or out of place, police say call CrimeStop, (602) 262-6151, so that if an officer is available they can respond and maybe stop a crime before it happens.
