So, you’ve floated the Salt a million times. Here’s your chance to ride Arizona’s mightiest river: the Colorado.

The largest floating party on the Colorado River, the Bullhead City River Regatta is protected from power boats by a U.S. Coast Guard-issued safety zone, giving thousands of tubers a wide-open, 10-mile path to Rotary Park, where the first 25,000 to wash ashore get a free hot dog, bag of chips and bottled water.

Area hotels and casinos will run free shuttles to regatta launch points, where air stations will allow you to inflate your tubes on site.

Once you register (online), pick up your wristband and T-shirt from Harrah’s or Walmart in Bullhead City to get started. You must wear your wristband and a life vest to participate. Outfitters that rent tubes and life vests are on the event’s website.

DETAILS >> Launch anytime 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10 from Community Park, 1251 Arizona State Route 95, or Davis Camp, 2251 Arizona State Route 68. Float ends at Rotary Park, 2315 Balboa Drive. $30 fee includes shuttle ride back to your starting point and T-shirt. Registration and life vest required. (928) 763-9400 or BullheadRegatta.com.
