The name on the sexually charged text messages sent to a 17-year-old boy said they were from Timmy Turner, but Chandler police say they were really from the 48-year-old wife of Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock.

Susan Brock was arrested on suspicion of child molestation and sexual misconduct with a minor on Tuesday, nearly three weeks since the boy told police they had their last sexual encounter. She now is being held in a Maricopa County jail without bond.

The content of the messages led police to open a floodgate into details of an alleged sexual relationship the woman had with the boy for three years beginning when he was 14 years old and totaling nearly 30 sexual encounters, according to a police report.

Officers arrested Brock after police said they received information from family friends that said they had intercepted text messages sent to a device given to the boy by Brock, uncovering a long ongoing relationship and sending shockwaves through Brock’s family. The boy’s father also provided police with a printout from his home computer, on which he had installed a program that reads and stores text — including chat messages.

A statement issued from Fulton Brock’s office said: “My life and that of my family’s was upended last night. Police officers arrested my wife of twenty-eight years and the mother of our three children. She was informed that she was being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year old.”

The statement also said, “Even with this statement I am not sure how to express what such a shocking emotional punch to your heart and family feels like. I am stunned. My children are flabbergasted. You think you know someone after 28 years and I need answers as much as police officers do. I want so much to believe these allegations are not true, but if they are, I am appalled and crushed. I am a religious man. I ask all to pray for our family and those involved so that justice may best be served.”

The boy told police of numerous sex acts in the woman’s vehicle, her residence and her mother’s residence or a secluded area of South Cooper Road and East Nightingale Lane in Chandler after she would pick him up from his home or school.

Brock allegedly gave the boy many electronic gifts over the last three years, according to the report. The boy also told police that Brock also helped facilitate meetings with a girlfriend forbidden by her parents to see him.

Fulton Brock represents District 1 on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, which covers Chandler and the south East Valley.
