Special Olympics Arizona is partnering with Fry’s Food Stores through April 25 for the grocery store’s “Fry’s Round Up” campaign.
Each month, Fry’s pairs up with a charity to promote community awareness at all 119 locations throughout Arizona.
The “Fry’s Round Up” charitable initiative encourages Fry’s associates to ask grocery-store patrons to round up their bill to the nearest dollar in support of Special Olympics Arizona. Fry’s also will accept flat donations for the organization, with all proceeds going directly to Special Olympics Arizona’s athletes and programs.
Donations raised will help SOAZ continue to provide year-round sports training, athletic competition and various support programs for nearly 16,000 athletes. SOAZ’s goal is to empower more than 180,000 Arizonans with intellectual disabilities to be healthy, productive and respected members of the community.
“Fry’s Food Stores is an amazing community partner, who has supported Special Olympics Arizona with contributions, in-kind gifts and volunteers,” Special Olympics Arizona CEO Tim Martin said. “We’ve partnered with Fry’s in the past with regards to Summer Games and Fry’s Fuel of Dream, and couldn’t be more excited to continue this great relationship.”
To support the initiative, Arizona residents can raise awareness by using the hashtag #FrysRoundUpforSOAZ or by visiting www.specialolympicsarizona.org/donate/frys-round-up. Special Olympics also encourages the public to sign up for Fry’s Community Rewards and select Special Olympics Arizona (#72451) as their charity of choice in order to help support the program year-round.
During various weeks throughout the charitable initiative, Special Olympics Arizona representatives and athletes will join Law Enforcement Torch Run officers as they visit Fry’s Food Stores throughout the state to thank customers for contributions and supporting the organization.
