One of our favorite Friday-night ideas ever? Arizona Science Center's Adults' Night Out.
The top-notch science museum lets grown-ups in for free 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. No children are allowed.
Disc jockeys crank out music, and there's a cash bar. But the real fun is in exploring all four levels of hands-on exhibits.
For those who want to geek out further, a free 7 p.m. lecture is on "Vampires of the Bug World: The Truth Behind Bed Bugs." The film "Stars of the Pharaohs" screens at 8:15 p.m. in the museum's Dorrance Planetarium. There is a fee to see the movie.
You can skip the line to get in by pre-registering for Adults' Night Out online.
