Most cat kennels have two, three, four or even five kittens who one minute are rough housing and the next napping in a big pile.

Nearly 400 cats, dogs and critters are in need of homes and AHS is going to do something about it. The "We're Not Going Home ‘Til They Do" adopt-a-thon will take place Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 with extended hours.

Both the Sunnyslope and Campus for Compassion facilities will be transformed into one big slumber party complete with staff and volunteers in their pajamas as they snuggle in to their sleeping bags and tents with our four-legged friends nearby.

While the joy of pets will clearly be evident throughout the weekend, AHS' commitment to finding homes for the nearly 400 animals in our care is so great that Friday will kick off with AHS' $5 Feline Frenzy in which all cats and kittens will be available for just $5 all weekend long. The frenzy will continue with rabbit adoptions for just $20.

For more information on AHS' adopt-a-thon, visit or to learn more about AHS' fight against pet overpopulation in our community, please visit to receive a 50 percent off spay/neuter coupon.

Due to increased volume of adoptions, please bring in rental agreement at time of adoption to ensure timely service.
