Calling all young animal detectives: Kids are invited on a wild search to track desert animals 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Usery Mountain Regional Park in Mesa.

The event begins with a live animal presentation and goes on to explore remote area of the park, where children will be coached in how to look for clues as to which critters have been there.

The event is best suited for kids ages 5-12, and families are advised bring water and wear hats and closed-toe shoes.

There is a $6-per-vehicle park entry fee. For information, call (480) 984-0032 or visit Maricopa.gov/parks/usery.
