Beer store’s Adams photo show comes with a draft ale

Think of it as arts and drafts.

You get to check out black and white prints by the most honored American photographer of the 20th century while sipping a beer named for the place where he made many of his famous images.

World of Beer Tempe — that’s right, it’s a craft beer house, not a museum — will show works by renowned nature photographer and wilderness champion Ansel Adams. On view April 1-7, the images will be displayed in the back of World of Beer’s 100-year-old Tempe National Bank building.  

Admission is $8 and includes one glass of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. The beer pairs well with Adams’ work, as he photographed chiefly in California’s Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Organizers say a portion of proceeds will go to the Downtown Tempe Community, Inc., and admission will be discounted for students from any educational institution.

The event coincides with the Tempe Festival of the Arts, taking place April 5-7 on Mill Avenue.
