You already devour titles by Jodi Picoult (“House Rules,” “Handle With Care,” “Change of Heart,” “Nineteen Minutes,” “My Sister’s Keeper”); now your teenager may do the same with the New York Times bestselling author’s daughter.

Picoult and Samantha van Leer, her high school-aged daughter, will appear Wednesday at Dobson High School in Mesa to promote their first book together, “Between the Lines.” It’s a modern-day fairytale between a teenage introvert and a fictional prince tired of being trapped in the pages of his literary existence.

Local indie bookseller Changing Hands Bookstore hosts the authors’ presentation, q-and-a, and booksigning.

Tickets are free with the purchase of one copy of “Between the Lines” ($19.99) and are good for two seats in the DHS auditorium. Seating is first come, first served, and the booksigning line will be formed after the presentation based on your assigned “signing group.”

Picoult and van Leer will sign — and personalize, on request — all copies of “Between the Lines” purchased at Changing Hands. Picoult will also sign one copy of any additional title. Photography is welcome, but the authors will not pose for photographs.

DETAILS >> 7 p.m. Wednesday. Dobson High School auditorium, 1501 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa. $19.95 purchase of book includes entry for two into the auditorium, but get there early as seating is first come, first served. (480) 730-0205 or www.changinghands.com.
