It may not be gourmet, but it is cheap — and the proceeds go to a charity that helps local first responders and their families when they’re the ones in crisis.

Fry’s Electronics will host a cookout 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17-18, where you can snap up 25-cent hot dogs and drinks. Proceeds will go to the 100 Club of Arizona, which provides financial assistance when serious injury, death or life-altering situations occur for public safety officers. It also funds safety enhancement stipends for better equipment and scholarships for immediate family members of public safety servants.

Cookouts will take place at both Fry’s locations, 2300 W. Baseline Road, Tempe, and 3035 W. Thunderbird Road, Phoenix. For information, visit 100Club.org.
