The Tempe Police Department is investigating a threatening note received at Fees Middle School early Tuesday morning.

According to a press release sent by the department, a teacher at the middle school discovered an anonymous note at approximately 6:45 a.m. that contained threats of violence toward the school and teachers. The Tempe police responded and determined there was no immediate threat to the school, although officers will be on or around campus throughout the day as a precaution.

The department is working to locate and question the person who wrote the letter, and its content is not being made public because the investigation is ongoing.

People with information about the situation should contact the department on its non-emergency line at (480) 250-8311 or use the Crime Tips website, tempe.gov/index.aspx?page=2653, or by text at 274-637 using the keyword TEMPEPD.
