It’s time to get outside with Cabela’s Diamonds in the Rough, a ladies-only outdoor adventure club. All you need is a sense of adventure and desire to have fun. No men are allowed.

6:30 to 8:30 a.m. May 28: Bird & Dragonfly Walk – It’s warming up outside and time to enjoy the cool mornings while we can. Have you ever had an interest in birding or identifying dragonflies? Join the group at the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center, where Emily Morris will help you get to know the array of birds and dragonflies that reside at the Audobon Center this time of year. If you have binoculars or other optics please bring them, as well as a camera for picture taking. There will be some extras to try out as well. Come prepared to be outside (long sleeves are good for protection from the sun, as well as hats, sunglasses and sunscreen). You don’t have to wear hiking boots as they ground isn’t very uneven, but flip-flops are not recommended. Water will be provided.

Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center is at 3131 S. Central Ave., Phoenix. This introductory class will cover the basics and then some. Space is limited, so RSVP to Georgette.McNally@cabelas.com.

6 to 8 p.m. June 16: Scrapbooking Fun: Bring your photos from the May 28 event and others to Cabela’s and learn some scrapbooking basics with Creative Memories’ scrapbooking expert. The cost for this class will be $20, to be collected by Creative Memories. All necessary supplies for this project will be included in the cost. This will take place in the conference room. If you are interested in attending, RSVP to Georgette.McNally@cabelas.com.

6 to 8:30 p.m. July 8 and 7 to 10 a.m. July 16: Kayaking Basics: What better place to spend a long, hot summer day than paddling on the lake? Join this introductory class Friday night at Cabela’s, and then apply your skills the next Saturday morning at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Students should be at least 12 years old. No pets, please. Details for Saturday to be provided in class Friday night. Reservations required and limited. Make reservations by calling 623-872-6700.
