The Phoenix Suns' "Operation Orange" campaign continues to blitz the Valley by offering fans an opportunity to participate in a variety of family-friendly events, activities and charitable causes.

Festivities in the upcoming months will include games, contests and entertainment at Valley community centers, shopping malls and entertainment venues. In addition, events will feature special appearances by a variety of Phoenix Suns talent including Suns alumni, The Gorilla, Suns Dancers, APS Solar Squad and Verve Sol Patrol.

Fans are encouraged to log onto for all "Operation Orange" updates and events. In addition, fans can take advantage of an opportunity to submit a request to have "Operation Orange" visit their neighborhood at some point during the campaign.

 Suns' "Operation Orange" events will be:

10 a.m. to noon Aug. 6: "Operation: Backpack" at Chandler Crossroad Harkins Theatres, 2980 E. Germann Road, Chandler. This three-part event will feature appearances by Suns almuni, The Gorilla, Suns Dancers and APS Solar Squad in addition to games and prizes. Suns Fans will receive two complimentary Ultimate VIP tickets to a Harkins movie of their choice with the donation of a backpack filled with school supplies.

1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 6: "Operation: Backpack" at Scottsdale 101 Harkins Theatres, 7000 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix.

1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 7: "Operation: Backpack" at Park West Harkins Theatres, 9804 W. Northern Ave., Peoria.

6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12: Big Surf Water Park, 1500 N. McClintock Drive, Tempe. Suns fans are invited to splash the night away. The first 168 guests to arrive at the Phoenix Suns table near the entrance wearing their best Phoenix Suns gear will receive one free admission to the park for the evening. The Gorilla, Suns Dancers and APS Solar Squad members will distribute prizes throughout evening.

5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26: "Suns Operation Orange Shoot Around at US Airways Center" at US Airways Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix. The event will offer fans an opportunity to shoot baskets on the main court at US Airways Center. In addition, participants of all ages will have a chance to compete in a variety of basketball skills competitions. Members of the Suns Dancers and Verve Sol Patrol will interact with fans at the event.

1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 27: McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic Center, 15525 N. Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale. Suns fans are encouraged to bring out their family for this fun day in the sun. Water slides, water games and inflatables are just a few of the activities that fans and their families can play while hanging out with The Gorilla, Suns Dancers and Verve Sol Patrol.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 10: Anthem Community Center, 41130 N. Freedom Way, Anthem. The Suns are invading Anthem and making a splash with water games and activities as well as appearances by The Gorilla, Suns Dancers, Verve Sol Patrol and APS Solar Squad members.

5:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16: USA Skateland, 1101 W. Ray Road, Chandler. Suns fans are encouraged to dress from head-to-toe in orange and strap on their skates. Everyone in orange will receive free admission and a chance to skate with Suns alumni, The Gorilla, Suns Dancers and APS Solar Squad members. The fun will continue outside, where there will be inflatables and additionals games for families.

6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 22: Red Mountain Park, 7745 E. Brown Road, Mesa. Performances by APS Solar Squad and Suns Dancers will be just part of the fun at this family-friendly event. Phoenix Suns fans are invited to enjoy an evening of games, activities and prizes.

9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 23: Boo at the Phoenix Zoo, 455 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix. Orange is the color of Halloween, so it only seems fitting the Phoenix Suns host a slam dunk event with the Phoenix Zoo's Boo at the Zoo. Inflatables, games as well appearances from Suns Dancers and APS Solar Squad will add another element of fun to the zoo family event.
