The city of Mesa will host a tree planting event for Arbor Day on April 25 at the new Botanical Walk. The event will start at 9:30 a.m.

The city, along with students from Zaharis Elementary School and volunteers, will encourage tree planting and care. Volunteers will also read “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss to third grade classes at 12 Mesa Public Schools, and Palo Verde seed packets will be distributed to the students.

The Botanical Walk is located at 9320 E. McKellips Road, and more information about Arbor Day, visit www.mesaaz.gov/sustainability/arborday.aspx.
