Zoppé: An Italian Family Circus has ushered audiences into its intimate, one-ring circus tent since 1842. The Old World-style show, performed by members of the same family for more than six generations, is propelled by a central story featuring acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, canine tricks, clowning and audience participation.

“We try to touch every emotion during the show. They’ll laugh, they’ll cry and they’ll feel for the characters,” says sixth-generation clown Giovanni Zoppé.

>> Zoppé: An Italian Family Circus hosts shows at noon and 4 p.m. Sunday at Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave. Additional shows continue through Jan. 2, 2010. $15-$35 per person. (480) 782-2680 or chandlercenter.org.
