Portions of the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway and state Route 143 will close this weekend.
Westbound Loop 202 will close between Gilbert Road and Country Club Drive from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday to install an overhead message sign.
Northbound Route 143 will close from Broadway Road to Washington Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements. That will block access to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport from Route 143. The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers reach the airport by entering from 24th Street, or to exit Interstate 10 at 40th Street and use eastbound University Drive to reach northbound 44th Street.
