Sinema and Parker hold early lead in CD 9

Unofficial results in the race to represent congressional district 9 show Republican Vernon Parker and Democrat Kyrsten Sinema in the lead.

 At 6:50 a.m. Sinema was in the lead with 42.01 percent of the votes for the Democrats with all precincts reporting. Parker held the lead for Republicans with 23.09 percent of the votes.

Republicans Wendy Rogers and Martin Sepulveda were close behind Parker with 21 percent and 20.11 percent of the votes respectively.

Democrat David Schapira held just over 30 percent of the votes at 6:53 a.m. and Andrei Cherny had 27.18 percent.

In the Republican race Lisa Borowsky had 6.91 percent of the votes, Leah Campos Schandlbauer had 4.17 percent, Travis Grantham had 17.88 percent and Ahwatukee Foothills resident Jeff Thompson had 6.84 percent.

In the Republican race for Jon Kyl's U.S. senate seat Jeff Flake held 70.82 percent of the votes while Wil Cardon had 20.84 percent with 723 of 724 precincts reporting.
