Phoenix Dance Cooperative (PDC) and Soul Shock Dance Company were recently honored by the Federation of Dance Competitions (FDC) as one of 10 Pacific Region studios to earn the title of “Top Ten Studio.”

The award was determined at the end of the dance competitive season for overall high point scoring throughout the year’s regional and national competitions.

PDC was the only Arizona studio to be included in the Pacific Region among nine California studios. Artistic directors Antoine Olds and Ambur Towns will be attending the FDC Gala in Cancun, Mexico, for the presentation of awards.

In addition, a Soul Shock Dance Company routine, “Halo,” won the FDC Primetime People’s Choice Award. This routine was chosen by judges at the regional Primetime competition as the highest scoring group routine among hundreds of routines entered.

Videos of all the regional Judge’s Choice winners were then posted on the FDC site and judging was open to the public.

Soul Shock also had three other Judge’s Choice, high-scoring regional routines that were nominated for the People’s Choice Award: “Nicest Things,” “Turn to Stone” and “Fix You.”

The studio has three dance rooms located in Ahwatukee at 12020 S. Warner Elliot Loop. For more information, visit www.phoenixdancecooperative.com or call (480) 264-2929.
