Local athletes headed to rowing nationals

Two local girls — Desert Vista graduate Allison Kwiecinski and Horizon Honors senior-to-be Rachel Borden — and their teammates recently finished third out of 32 teams in the quad division U.S. Rowing Youth Southwest Regional Championships in Sacramento, Calif.

Filling out the four-person boat was recent Arcadia graduate Alison Mettler and Arcadia sophomore-to-be Abby Diazcadenza.

They qualified for the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championship in Tennessee on June 9.
