The back of Levi Shoemaker’s cycling jersey says “I ride with diabetes.” Levi was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a year ago. Now he will be a “red rider” at the Tour de Cure in Phoenix.

Shawn, Levi, Madeline and Todd Shoemaker go for a short practice ride around their neighborhood Wednesday, Feb. 22. They will be participating in Phoenix’s Tour de Cure to raise money for diabetes research.
