There will be no Williamsport hysteria this year.
The Ahwatukee Little League Majors team was knocked out of the District 13 All-Star tournament after five of the seven teams in its age group finished at the top of the standings at with a 4-2 record.
It came down to a tiebreaker and ALL came out on the short end, meaning it wont move on to the semifinals and play for a chance to for the district title.
District winners advance to a sectional in Prescott before playing in the state tournament in Coolidge.
In 2006, the Ahwatukee community got swept up in the excitement of the Dawgs advancing all the way to Williamsport, Pa., and won two games before being knocked out.
The Minors team grabbed the top seed and the 11- and 10-year-old team is the third seed in Fridays semifinals at the Tempe Sports Complex.
The Minors face Chandler National South at 5:30 pm and the 11-10 team takes on Tempe South at 8 p.m.
