This weekend, the Southwest’s most accomplished artists and musicians will come together at the Wigwam Festival of Fine Art to feature their most spectacular works.

This three-day celebration is an event for the entire family, where visitors have the chance to see one-of-a-kind Native American art from world-renowned artists, and enjoy authentic Native American storytellers, musicians and dancers, all within the outdoor setting and lush landscape of The Wigwam.

This year’s featured artist is Sharon Brening, a Peoria resident and 2011 Western Artists of America gold medal winner, who is known for her oil paintings, which are a sensitive portrayal of Native American life.

The festival will also feature stories and music of master fiddler and Native American storyteller Arvel Bird and Sonoran jazz by Dulce Vas, all accompanied by the White Mountain Apache Crown Dancers.

The festival will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday at The Wigwam, 300 E. Wigwam Blvd., Litchfield Park. This is a free event that is open to the public.
