Prickly pear gelée, wood stone fired black sea bass, and blueberry lemon curd tart are just a few of the delicacies fine diners will enjoy when culinary students at the East Valley Institute of Technology open the 5th Season restaurant on Oct. 6.

Each year, the students transform the career-technical school's banquet hall into a gourmet restaurant that's open to the public the first Thursday of each month, from 5-8 p.m. The three-course meal is $40 per person, and the menu changes monthly.

"The restaurant is important because it provides an opportunity for our advanced students to push their skills to the next level," culinary instructor Tricia Guerrero said in a news release.

Space is limited and reservations fill quickly. To reserve your spot, call (480) 461-4139 or email tguerrero@evit.com. EVIT is located at 1601 W. Main St.

Bon appétit!
