The Arizona Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is accepting donations to its Disaster Relief Fund to support the needs of communities impacted by the Arizona wildfires, according to a news release. The foundation will contribute $60,000 to match donor gifts, dollar for dollar.
Grants will be awarded to support emergency needs of residents, as well as domestic and wild animals, and for long-term community rebuilding. The grants will serve the communities hit by the wildfires only. Distributions will be overseen by a committee of staff and local community volunteers.
“When disaster hits, organizations like the American Red Cross and others do an excellent job of providing food and shelter for the homeless and supplies to firefighters. ACF will be there after the firefighters have moved on to help restore the social and physical infrastructure necessary to get the community back on its feet,” Steve Seleznow, president and CEO of the Arizona Community Foundation, said in the news release.
Gifts can be made online with a credit card at www.azfoundation.org. Checks may be mailed to ACF at 2201 E. Camelback Road, Suite 202, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
