The state House voted to have taxpayers from across the state help Glendale cover its public safety costs for next year's Super Bowl.

Rep. Bob Robson, R-Chandler, said while Glendale is hosting the event, it was a state host committee that made the successful bid for it. Rep. Lupe Contreras, D-Avondale, said the entire state will benefit from the visitors and the money they spend while here.

But Rep. Eddie Farnsworth, R-Gilbert, said the measure is an improper bail out for Glendale. The 33-25 vote on HB 2547 sends the measure to the Senate.
