The Desert Rose Theatre is celebrating the holiday season by transporting its audience back to the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas for a holiday gathering of the Rat Pack — Sammy, Deano, and Frankie — back together again in their heyday.

This musical-comedy show features some of the singers’ most treasured music, while also reminding audiences how they generated as many laughs on the stage as song.

Katherine Stewart, Desert Rose Theatre’s artistic director and author of the show, says the show will be long on dapper nostalgia.

“Today, we don’t have a lot of suave men’s men. The Rat Pack were the anti-hipsters — they were crooners, they didn’t scream,” Stewart said. “They treated women like ladies, and wore tuxes, not grunge. I think a lot of us who weren’t alive then look back in longing, and those who were around feel a deep sense of nostalgia for these guys.”

Musical numbers include “The Lady is a Tramp,” “Baby it’s Cold Outside,” “That’s Amore,” “The Christmas Song” and many more.

The multi-talented cast features Valley stage veterans Kellen Garner as Frank Sinatra (Mesa), Mitchell Vantrease as Sammy Davis Jr. (Glendale) and Scott Brooks as Dean Martin (Queen Creek).

The show is being performed at Desert Rose’s new theater at Power Square Mall, 2055 S. Power Road, at Interstate 60 and Power Road in Mesa.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. Dec. 10 and 17.

Tickets may be purchased by going to www.brownpapertickets.com  or by calling the Brown Paper Tickets box office at 1-800-838-3006. Tickets are $18 adults, $16 students, seniors, teachers, military and first responders. Group rates are available. More information on Desert Rose Theatre can be found at www.desertrosetheatre.com.
