One of the coolest artsy events of the year happens Thursday, Oct. 10, in downtown Mesa.

Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum's 10x10 Benefit Show and Sale is your chance to pick up a one-of-a-kind work of art, created by a real artist, for just $100.

Participating artists are asked to create an original work of two- or three-dimensional art in a 10-inch-by-10-inch format.

Budding artists 18 and younger were also invited to customize 5-inch-by-5-inch canvases; those will be sold for $25 each.

All proceeds benefit the museum and its educational programs.

Doors open at 6 p.m. sharp, and art will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Admission is $10 per person. Sweet treats will be served, and there's entertainment and a cash bar.

For information, go to or call (480) 644-6560.
