Ahwatukee student graduates from USAFA
The parents of Shauna Lynn Casey, Marsha and Kevin Casey, announced her commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Shauna has been a lifelong resident of Ahwatukee and graduated from Seton Catholic Preparatory High School in May 2008.
She began basic cadet training in June 2008, along with 1,347 others. She received a bachelors of science degree in military history, specializing in the Middle East and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force on May 23 at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The Class of 2012 commissioned 1,095 officers.
Shauna will be stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base working as a logistics officer.
Ahwatukee student graduates from USAFA
Steven Lambe graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs on May 23 as a 2nd Lieutenant. In August, he will begin pilot training at the Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Miss.
Lambe and his family have lived in Ahwatukee since June 1989. He attended Desert Vista High School where he was a standout football player, and he earned a scholarship to the USAFA.
DVHS alum graduates from USAFA
The parents of Jeffre K. Wood announced his commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Wood began basic cadet training in June 2008, along with 1,347 others. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in aeronautical engineering with superintendent honors and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force on May 23 at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Wood will be attending Rice University to pursue a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering in the fall and on completion will report to Sheppard AFB, Texas, for pilot training. He is a 2008 graduate of Desert Vista High School.
